Landscape

For projects of any size or budget, Site Structures is the natural choice for your landscape installation. Whether you are starting with a blank canvas, or seeking to improve or renovate an existing landscape, we will help you choose the plants and trees that are right for the site.

Plants

“Right plant, right place.” This is a mantra our crew takes to heart. Taking into account client needs (shade, aesthetics, sustainability) we’ll work together to identify the appropriate plants for your site. When we can, we’ll use native plants that are tailor-fit to enhance your landscape. Invasive species, while commonly used, are harmful to local ecosystems and have no place in a Site Structures-created landscape. We will identify and remove existing “wrong plants” from the “wrong places.”

Large Trees

Site Structures Landscape has extensive experience in locating and planting large trees for our clients. Finding rare large caliper trees (thick-trunked, older trees) is a specialty skill – we scour nurseries along the Eastern Seaboard to find the right tree for your property and ensure it reaches the site safely. After carefully assessing the location, marking utilities and considering the microclimates (light, wind and water), we choose the right spot for planting. When the tree is safely in the ground, we can help you to manage the necessary aftercare.

Hardscapes

A thoughtful stone feature can serve as the bones of a beautiful landscape. Rather than using stones for their own sake, Site Structures believes that form should follow function. Our hardscapes are not just beautiful, they “work” – whether to correct grading, direct water flow or provide plant protection. Our designs will always be intuitive – the most beautiful kind. Site Structures will help you to select the perfect stones for your wall, walk, patio, fire pit or other unique feature. We have extensive experience in the careful transport and installation of hardscape materials – whether for a simple walkway or valuable stone sculpture.

Fall Cleanup • Lawn Aeration and Dethatching

Fall Lawn Aeration is your secret weapon!
Aerate your lawn this Fall to make it lush, green and healthy next Spring. Call Site Structures Landscape today!

The two types of aeration involve making holes in the lawn either
by pushing a rod into it or by "coring", extracting plugs of soil.
The preferred method, by far, is coring. By aerating your lawn you provide the following benefits to your lawn and its root system:
  • Oxygen gets to the roots and soil allowing them to "breathe"
  • Organic fertilizers and nutrients have easier access to the root system
  • Water is better able to soak into the soil and reach the root system
  • Coring aeration helps to break up thatch build-up in the lawn
  • Tight, compacted soil is loosened up allowing the root system to grow stronger

Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding (or hydraulic mulch seeding, terraseeding, hydromulching, hydraseeding)  is a planting process which utilizes a special slurry of seed, mulch and other ingredients. The slurry is sprayed over prepared ground in a uniform layer. Hydroseeding is a much more effective alternative to the traditional process of broadcasting dry seed. It promotes quick germination and inhibits soil erosion much more effectively.

The mulch in the hydroseed mixture helps maintain the moisture level of the seed and seedlings. The slurry often has other ingredients including fertilizer, tackifying agents, green dye and other additives.
